NISMO to race all-new Nissan Z GT4 in 2023

Nissan's motorsport division NISMO is out to exploit the racing capabilities of the all-new Z sports car.

After a decade, NISMO finally has a new offering for those who compete in customer racing. It's no other than the Z GT4. The new race car is the successor of the highly-competitive and successful 370Z GT4, which won numerous national championships and endurance races, including the Dubai 24 Hours.

While full technical specifications of the Z GT4 will have to wait until November's SEMA show in Las Vegas, NISMO said they have made significant changes to optimize the Z's chassis, brakes, suspension, and aerodynamics for severe competition use.

In addition, the racing division also disclosed they have tuned the Z road car's VR30DDTT engine, but did not reveal any performance figures. For comparison purposes, the engine of the GT4-spec 370Z developed over 400 PS and was paired to a Quaife 6-speed sequential gearbox.

Once available for customers in 2023, the Nissan Z GT4 is set to battle with the Toyota GR Supra in GT4-class series championships around the world.
