Even though the China-leg has been canceled (or postponed until further notice), the all-electric Formula E series carries on forward. In fact, the organizers recently revealed the all-new car design that will be used for the 2020-21 season. Better yet, we’ll already be able to see it hit street circuits around the world later this year during the start of season seven.

Those who follow Formula E will notice that the chassis remains the same. However, there are few notable design changes which give the Gen2 Evo cars look a lot wilder than the current Formula E cars. The changes include a new front wing, dorsal fin, and a split rear wing. It also features a newly updated championship livery. All combined, it helps the Gen2 Evo cars stand out against other open-wheel series. Some might even say it looks better than the current batch of Formula 1 cars.

Aside from the chassis, the battery and technology used in the cars by various teams will remain the same for the next season. The same goes for the 18-inch wheels and all-weather Michelin Pilot Sport tires. For reference, Formula E runs the same tires whether the track is wet or dry. This is in comparison to Formula 1 where they have rain tires and even intermediates.

Similar to previous seasons of Formula E, teams competing in the series use the same body and chassis as shown here. However, teams are allowed to design, develop and use their own electrical components and some parts of the powertrain. As a result, all cars on the grid look the same (apart from the livery). The main difference could be seen in their performance.

The Gen2 Evo Formula E cars will make its public debut at the upcoming Geneva International Motor Show on March 3.
