New 2.3-km rally track for cars and bikes now open in Cebu
Revamped MS Motosuit Motorsports Park is now a 2.3-kilometer rally track for cars and motorcycles in Cebu

We have some good news for racers and motorsport enthusiasts in Cebu and the neighboring provinces of Central Visayas. There's a new motorsport park in Calambua, San Remigio town, in Northern Cebu; it's about 83 kilometers or roughly 2-3 hours away from Metro Cebu. Unlike Clark International Speedway or Batangas International Circuit, however, the new track isn't paved. Instead, it's a proper dirt and gravel course rally enthusiasts will surely enjoy.

MS Motosuit Motorsport Park was originally a 1.5 kilometer-long motocross track, however, property owner Lou Ornopia decided to make it more inclusive to more disciplines and vehicle types. It went through a revamp where the elevated jumps were flattened to allow for auto rallycross, flat-track motorcycle races, ATV, buggy, and Xterra cycling events. The new racecourse is 2.3 kilometers long and consists of blind crests and drop-offs.
Rallyross Cebu expressed delight with the new MS Motosuit Motorsports Park track. They also expect friendly competition with fellow enthusiasts from neighboring provinces, and eventually other parts of the country.
"Rally course racers used to drive to Consolacion, 25 kilometers away from Metro Cebu to play in the dirt, but with the pandemic and subsequent quarantine restrictions, holding races at that track has become more challenging. We temporarily held rally races at the Kartzone track within Metro Cebu, but with the new MS Motosuit track, proper rally races are back, this time with a new track and layout," said Lord Seno, president of Rallycross Cebu.
Based on the video on the Rallycross Cebu Facebook page, the track appears to be challenging. According to Seno, expect to see some rally events being held at the track once details regarding safety protocols and logistics are complete. Hopefully, we'll be able to try it out soon, too.
Hopefully, in a few years, someone will open a race track similar to the one in Clark or Batangas to cater to circuit racing fans down south.
