Yvan Muller struck back in Donington Park in Great Britain, claiming a double victory and cutting by half his gap in the points from Rob Huff that is now of 15 points only.
The Chevrolet team is in perfect condition this season, re-writing the WTCC book of records, including 13 race wins and two back-to-back victories in the same weekend for the same driver (Huff in Monza, Muller at Donington).
Yvan Muller claimed his second pole position of the season in a qualifying that was full of drama because of the changeable weather. Despite the grip changed completely lap after lap, the Chevrolet team managed to keep everything under control and filled the top three positions of both qualifying races with Rob Huff and Alain Menu in second and third behind Muller.
Podium for the race weekend was also dominated by Chevrolet, Yvan Muller was first place for the two races, followed by Robert Huff, Alain Menu won third place for the first race and Franz Engstler of the BMW team won third for Race 2, claiming his first overall podium in the championship.
The championship will resume at Oschersleben, Germany, on July 31st for rounds 15 and 16.
