With SEAT and BMW quickly closing the gap, team Chevrolet steps on the pedal and widens the gap once more as they are not yet willing to step down from their WTCC throne.
Races 3 and 4 which took place in Valencia showed a preview to the fans of what they should expect to see as the season goes on, with the trio of blue cars defending themselves from the attacks of the likes of Gabriele Tarquini, Tom Coronel and a platoon of competitive independents such as Pepe Oriola, Norbert Michelisz, Sefano D'Aste and Franz Engstler.
The world champion team leaves Spain with two more victories in their bag. The race went smoothly for Yvan Muller, in Race 1 Muller cruised home comfortably, due to the large gap provided by the fight behind him between Tarquini and Coronel. The second race was one of the more exciting races, with Menu managing to keep a bunch of BMW cars behind him throught the race and winning his first victory for the season.
Team Aon's Ford Focus cars are also making steps forward and for the first time James Nash was running close to the point-scoring positions.
The championship will resume at Marrakech, Morocco, on April 15 for rounds 5 and 6.
