Mitsubishi Ralliart reveals team and driver lineup for AXCR 2022
Mitsubishi is ready for Ralliart's racing return in the 2022 Asia Cross Country Rally

The much-awaited return of the legendary Ralliart brand is almost here and Mitsubishi Motors has been hard at work on making their racing comeback a success.
After finishing two grueling endurance tests in June and August, the manufacturer says the Triton Rally Car and Team Mitsubishi Ralliart are ready to take on the 2022 Asia Cross Country Rally and has revealed the team and driver lineup for the November race.

As we reported back in March, the Team Mitsubishi Ralliart that will race in AXCR is owned by TANT Sports in Thailand but is backed by technical support from Mitsubishi Motors in Japan.
Two-time Dakar rally winner Hiroshi Masuoka is Mitsubishi Ralliart's team director. Also coming from Mitsubishi Motors Japan are engineers Yasuo Tanaka and Takashi Shibayama who will provide technical support in the chassis and engine department. Meanwhile, TANT Sports' Chayut Yangpichit and Kopong Amatayakul from Thailand will serve as the team principal and technical director of the rally team.

The two main drivers who will race the Triton Rally Cars are Rifat Sungkar from Indonesia and Chayapon Yotha from Thailand. Sungkar is an Indonesian Sprint Rally Championship winner while Yotha is a former champion of the Thailand Autocross Championship. Joining the two is Sakchai Hantrakul of Thailand who will drive the third Triton support car.
Team Mitsubishi Ralliart put the Triton Rally Car through its paces by doing a 1,100km endurance test at the Grand Prix Motor Park off-road race track in Kanchanaburi, Thailand. According to the manufacturer, they have reduced the weight of the Triton and improved the power output of its engine to increase drivability and enable agile handling in twisty sections. In addition, the team fitted new dual dampers to improve road performance and increase stability through rough roads.

The upcoming Asia Cross Country Rally will be held from November 21 to 26 in Thailand and Cambodia. Rest assured, we'll keep a close eye on Ralliart's return to motorsports.
