Michael Schumacher's kid is out testing Ferrari's F1 cars
Mick Schumacher ready to make Formula 1 test debut with Ferrari F1 team

The last time we saw Ferrari and Schumacher together was in 2006, before Michael retired from Formula 1 for the first time. Now the Schumacher name and Ferrari have come together once more, but this time it is Mick who is behind the wheel.
Mick Schumacher, son of seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher, recently made his Formula 1 test debut at the Bahrain Grand Prix, driving a Ferrari F1 car, following in the very footsteps of his father. The test gave Mick Schumacher the opportunity to experience Formula 1 in an official setting for the very first time. The young German managed to complete a total of 56 laps with his fastest time being 1’29”976. That said, he set the second fastest time during testing, coming behind Max Verstappen.
Following the test in Bahrain, Schumacher Jr. and another member of the Ferrari Academy, Callum Illot will be then testing for Alfa Romeo after the Spanish Grand Prix later this year.

Prior to his first upcoming F1 test, Mick Schumacher clinched the European F3 title last year. Currently, he drives for the Prema Racing team in Formula 2, which he is handling alongside with F1 testing. During his F2 debut weekend, he managed to finish in eighth place for the first race. In the next race, Schumacher managed to finish higher up in sixth.
"I really enjoyed today. It felt like home in the garage from the very first moment with a lot of people that know me since I was very young. The SF90 is incredible because of the power it has, but it is also smooth to drive, and that’s why I enjoyed myself so much. I was impressed by the braking power an F1 car has. It seemed to me you could brake later and later and the car would have made the turn anyway," said Schumacher.
With Mick already testing with Ferrari and soon with Alfa Romeo, it might be long before we see the Schumacher name officially return to Formula 1.
