McLaren GT3 racecar to debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed
McLaren to debut a new GT3 car with an exhibition from Jenson Button and the McLaren Mercedes MP4-26 at Goodwood.

McLaren has just announced the global debut of another new, track-only racecar but this time, judging by the sponsorship decals prominently displayed, it is for competition only.
Sadly it won’t be the P1 GTR that we reported on a few days ago but this is close enough. Speculation is it will replace the 12C GT3 and will be based on the 650S.
Making its debut on June 27 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the sketch image of this GT3 variant of the 650S with Tag Heuer and Mobil 1 decals indicate that it will be pure for-competition only racecar.
McLaren will make this day extra special for attendees as Jenson Button himself will drive the new GT3 up the famous Goodwood hill and then hop into his F1 McLaren Mercedes MP4-26 racecar and a McLaren MP4/2 to give the crowd an exhibition run.
Other McLaren models on display are the McLaren P1™, the McLaren 650S and a McLaren Special Operations (MSO) bespoked model of the 650S plus the 12C Sprint and the 12C GT3 racers.
