Maserati MC20 GT2 is raring to go racing
Maserati reveals MC20 GT2 race car at 24 Hours of Spa 2023

The last time the Maserati name was in GT racing, it completely dominated its competition. Now it's back for more, and with a new weapon to wield.

Maserati has unveiled the MC20 GT2 – the racing version of the MC20 super sports car. Decked out with additional aero and standard safety equipment, the MC20 GT2 is raring to go racing at the 2023 Fanatec GT European Series.
The MC20 GT2 is using the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo Nettuno V6 found in the MC20 road car, but will have its power output capped depending on the Balance of Performance (BoP) stated in the GT2 regulations.

An adjustable rear wing, a large front splitter, a diffuser, and side skirts complete the GT2 exterior package for improved downforce. Maserati also uprated the braking system – 390mm discs with six-piston calipers in front, and 355mm discs with four-piston calipers at the rear.

While it doesn't look too far off the MC20 road car, the GT2's body panels have a quick-release system for easier maintenance and bodywork servicing. It also has an integrated air jack system to go along with its center lock wheels for faster pitstops.

Maserati has not released the list of drivers that will race the MC20 GT2. The team will race the latter rounds of the 2023 Fanatec GT2 European Series before contesting an entire season in 2024.
