Lewis Hamilton signs new 3-year contract with Mercedes
Lewis Hamilton will continue to race under Mercedes AMG Petronas until 2018

Lewis Hamilton will continue on as Mercedes AMG Petronas' driver as he recently finalized a new contract with the current F1 Constructors' Champion. The agreement extends Hamilton's association with Mercedes for the upcoming 2016 – 2018 F1 seasons.
First joining Mercedes AMG Petronas back in 2013, he won his first race under the Silver Arrows in Hungary during the same year. Then in 2014, Hamilton was able to secure 11 victories before finally winning his second F1 championship for the season (his first F1 championship was under McLaren).
The Briton stated that he couldn't be happier with Mercedes and it is a company filled with passionate racers and a hunger to win.
“Even after the success of last year, that hunger is greater than ever – and it's the same for me too.” said Hamilton.
Toto Wolff, the head of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport on the other hand said that renewing Hamilton's contract was top priority for both the company and the racing driver.
“Continuity is one of the key factors for delivering success in Formula One and we now have that in place. Lewis enjoyed a historic World Championship season with Mercedes-Benz last year and it was a priority for this season to renew his contract for the next term. The result is a strong agreement that will enhance Lewis' association with Mercedes-Benz,” said Wolff.
Lewis is currently leading in this year's F1 season with 111 points while following closely behind is teammate Nico Rosberg with 91 points.
