Jan Millard Lacuna is new GT Academy PH leader
Mechanical Engineering student Jan Millard Lacuna is now at the top of the GT Academy Philippines leaderboard.

Mechanical Engineering student and car enthusiast Jan Millard Lacuna has taken the GT Academy Philippines qualifiers to a new level with a new best lap of 1:02.408, set this afternoon at the Skydome in SM North EDSA.

The 20-year-old was a AutoIndustriya.com GT5 Challenge Champion like former leader Terence Lallave, who initially clinched the top spot today at 1:02.437 after beating Rafael Miru Lesaguis’ time of 1:02.499 set at the same venue yesterday. Lesaguis has been relegated to third.
"Based on the times we set this weekend, it seems like a long road ahead since we have until June to set more laptimes. I have a feeling that we’ll see quicker times in the coming events. But I’m really happy with my result this weekend. Terence and Raf made this leg really interesting. I would like to thank Nissan Philippines for giving us all this once in a lifetime opportunity," said Lacuna.

The Top 20 qualifiers from the Live Recruitment Events will advance to the National Finals where they will all be subjected to physical, mental and driving challenges. Only 6 contestants will be chosen from the finalists to represent the Philippines in Silverstone, UK.
