Jackie Chan gains ownership of endurance racing team
Hong Kong Actor and Stuntman co-founds Chinese team to compete in 24 Hours of Le Mans

From Hollywood to Le Mans, Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan has aquired the DC Racing team as he takes on the new role of co-owner of the team. Now called the BAXI DC Racing Team. they dominated the LMP3 class of the Asian Le Mans Series last season. Using a Liger JS P3, Ho-Pin Tung, team co-founder David Cheng, and frenchman Thomas Laurent took the team to a perfect four wins out of four races to take the championship in their class.

Thanks to the famed actor and stuntman, the team is now primed to take on the largest stage of endurance racing. Running as Sparkle Roll Group-Jackie Chan DC Racing, the team was announced as one of the entries for the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans in June as well as the full season of the World Endurance Championship (WEC).
Running in LMP2 Class with an Alpine A460 Nissan, Cheng and Tung will remain as the team’s drivers. Their LMP2 Car mainly features an Oreca 05 Chassis, rebadged as an Alpine
Chan now joins a host of film stars that have participated in the prestigious race. Unlike Steve McQueen, Paul Newman, and Patrick Dempsey however, Jackie Chan will not be behind the wheel during the race.

“Following a great performance by our team in the Asian Le Mans Series, I am happy that we will have the privilege to race in the WEC, and of course the 84th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.” said Chan.
Jackie Chan, starring in countless movies both in the east and west, is a known car enthusiast and racing afficionado. His particular penchant for Mitsubishis have been further highlighted in 1995’s Thunderbolt, a Hong Kong racing film starring Chan.
