Isada, Guevarra win Rallye Tanay
Staff Writer

Eighteen-year-old Ivan Isada, in his first rallye of his motorsporting career, took the top podium spot in the recently concluded Blaze Rally of Tanay.
Team Ultron driver Ivan, driving a Honda Civic VTEC, finished the 120-kilometer, six special stage rallye with a total time of 44:48. His navigator, Art Guevara, 2000 National Rally Champion, gave up the driver's seat for this rallye season to guide Ivan in his first attempt at rallying.
Ivan's father, 10-time national rallye champion Vip Isada, driving for Team Blaze with navigator Robbie Hermoso in their Honda Civic VTEC, finished only 8 seconds slower to get the second place. The SM Bonus teamup of Dindo de Jesus and Melissa Santiago took the third spot.
There were three failed finishes in the race held last Saturday. Kenneth Dominado, driving a Toyota Corolla, only finished stage one after suffering a punctured radiator. He is followed by Auto Rallye Club of the Philippines president Danny Santiago - with his navigator/daughter Samantha Santiago - who stalled his Honda City in the middle of stage 2 after experiencing fuel injector problems.
Carlo Gutang, with co-driver Choi Mabunay, only completed the first two stages in his Toyota Celica GT4 due to a turbocharger malfunction.
There will be three more rallies this season, which will be culminated by the Petron Rallye Pilipinas in November.
