Hyundai Ioniq 5 N “TA Spec” sets fastest EV lap in Tsukuba
Hyundai sets new record for fastest EV in Tsukuba Circuit with Ioniq 5 N TA Spec

Hyundai continues to push the limits of EV performance with its award-winning car, the Ioniq 5 N.
With Nobuteru Taniguchi behind the wheel, Hyundai N participated at Attack Tsukuba 2025 using the Ioniq 5 N TA Spec. Held at the short but challenging Tsukuba Circuit in Japan, the Ioniq 5 N TA Spec set a lap time of 57.446 seconds – making it the fastest EV to ever lap the iconic circuit.

The Ioniq 5 N TA Spec is a motorsport variant of the Ioniq 5 N and was designed to highlight the performance of the production-spec model without significant modifications. The TA Spec version retains the high-performance power electronics system of the production version, but the maximum output has been increased to 687 PS and rear motor output by 37 PS thanks to software tuning.
Likewise, additional upgrades include a high-downforce aero package, modified speakers for the N Active Sound+, new shock absorbers, motorsport-grade brakes, 18-inch Advan 005 slick tires, a Recaro Pro Racer Spa Hans seat, Sabelt six-point harnesses, a Pikes Peak-approved roll cage, and an EV fire suppression system.

"This achievement demonstrates Hyundai's advanced EV technology and commitment. The new record for the Ioniq 5 N TA Spec, which mainly uses parts from mass-produced vehicles, is an important milestone that proves Hyundai's technological capabilities and represents Hyundai N's desire to deeply embed high-performance EVs into global automotive culture through events like Attack Tsukuba 2025," said Park Jun, executive director of Hyundai N.
