Honda is the title sponsor of 2021 Japanese F1 Grand Prix
The 2021 Japanese F1 Grand Prix will be powered by Honda

Honda has been making waves in Formula 1 as the power unit supplier of Red Bull Racing and Alphatauri. Last year, the Honda-powered teams took several Grand Prix victories thanks to Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly. This 2021 season, however, they have another reason to celebrate. The automaker is the title sponsor for the 2021 Japanese Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Scheduled for October 8 to 10, 2021, this year’s Japanese Grand Prix will officially be called “FIA Formula One World Championship Honda Japanese Grand Prix 2021”. Like before, the race will be held at the Suzuka Grand Prix Circuit. For those wondering, this won’t be the first Honda became the title sponsor for the race. The automaker was previously the title sponsor for the Japanese Grand Prix during the 2018 season.
“Honda is highly honored that we will be the title sponsor of the Honda Japanese Grand Prix again at the traditional racetrack, Suzuka Circuit, as was the case in the 2018 season. We would like to thank all F1 fans and related parties and, through this sponsorship, show our gratitude to them,” said Koji Watanabe, Chief Officer for Brand and Communication Operations, Honda Motor Co., Ltd.

So far, the two Honda-powered teams have been doing well in the 2021 season. Red Bull has been a lot more competitive and is much closer to the points in the fight against the Mercedes-AMG F1 team. It’s still too early to tell, but it would be fitting if this will be the year a Honda-powered F1 car wins the championship once more. After all, this is their final season in the sport, at least for now.
“We hope that motorsport in Japan continues to grow in popularity, in what is Honda’s final year of Formula One participation. On track, we will do all we can with Scuderia AlphaTauri and Red Bull Racing to get the best possible result at Suzuka Circuit,” adds Watanabe.
We’re hoping a Honda-powered car wins at Suzuka this 2021 season, more so if it’s with Japanese rookie Yuki Tsunoda.
