Haas reveals 2019 F1 car with new retro-cool livery
Haas F1 car revealed with a black-gold color scheme, reminiscent of the John Player Special

With the 2019 Formula 1 season opener just around the corner, Formula 1 teams are slowly beginning to reveal each of their challengers and corresponding liveries for the upcoming season. The first to reveal their car and livery is the only American team on the grid, Haas F1, which has also formally been renamed to Rich Energy Haas F1 Team as part of their new deal.

Called the VF-19, the design of the 2019 challenger now carries a black-gold livery which reflects the colors of their title sponsor Rich Energy. The design is a departure from their 2018 challenger's colors of white black and red. Taking a closer look, you can actually see the number of places where the Rich Energy logo is placed such as the engine cover, front wing and nose. The Haas name then adorns the sidepod and the rear wing in white.

For long-time Formula 1 fans, the black-gold theme will be a treat as it may seem to be a throwback to one of the most timeless liveries ever – the John Player Special design of the 1970's. And it's easy to see the similarity between Haas and the JPS livery, especially with the gold accents outlining most of the car.
Thanks to the dark color scheme, it's hard to see the changes made to the VF-19 compared to their 2018 car. Do expect it to make its public debut at the upcoming pre-season testing in Barcelona soon.

In 2018, Haas managed to finish 5th in the Constructor's Championship; their best so far. For 2019, Haas hopes to improve on that with their new cars. They will have the same driver lineup of Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen manning the cockpits.
