Polyphony Digital, developer of Gran Turismo has secured a partnership with the Ayrton Senna Institute, which will allow players to trace the roots of Senna’s racing career.
The announcement was made in Senna's hometown of Sao Paolo, Brazil October of 2013.
Upon the games release in December 6, 2013, online updates will equip the game with Senna-centric data for the player to use. It is still unknown if these elements will be playable in GT6.
"Ayrton Senna has always been my hero, and I'm honored to be able to work as a partner with the Ayrton Senna Institute, which has carried on his legacy. Nothing makes me happier than to relay the gratitude of the Ayrton Senna Foundation, to all the players of Gran Turismo 6," said Professional race car driver Kazunori Yamauchi, the producer of the Gran Turismo series.
Ayrton Senna is a three-time F1 world champion. His death in an accident at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix is the last driver fatality in F1.
"If it wasn't for Ayrton Senna, I don't think the video game, ‘Gran Turismo,’ would ever have been developed," said Yamuchi.
