GAC bags two championships at Bonifacio Cup
Four- and eight-hour Endurance championships go home with GAC Motor at this year's Bonifacio Cup Endurance Challenge

In a race that is a test of durability, reliability, and performance, GAC Motor again proves their mettle. In the recently concluded Gat Andres Bonifacio Cup Endurance Challenge, GAC again takes the top step of the podium in not one but two different classes.

The GAC Motor Race Team bested their competition in the 4-Hour Makisig Category and 8-hour Matatag category under Manufacturer’s Class and Open Class Group B. For drivers Brennan Lim, Mark Bernardo, Francis Arjonillo, Aurick Go, Sung Joon Park, and Andre Tan, it was a test of grit to get the GAC GA4 to go the distance in both races. Under the guidance of race engineer Jun Magno and team manager E.Z. Ligaya, they accomplished the task well enough to bag the gold.

Fielding two race-prepped GAC GA4 sedans, the win did not come as an easy feat. Aside from refueling and tire change stops, the drivers had to properly manage their engines and the brakes as well through the course of the race. Towards the end, driver Aurick Go already had a well-worn car to work with, so much so that the brake pads were already grinding metal with the rotors. Despite that, they were able to showcase the GA4’s grit and brought it home to the chequered flag.

The Gat Andres Bonifacio Cup was held this past weekend at the Batangas Racing Circuit, coinciding with the 156th celebration of Bonifacio Day. It was also the 2nd successful race of GAC Motor this year after their win at the Kalayaan Cup just this past June. If there is one thing that they have going for them following these two outings, it’s that if GAC and their GA4 sedan can withstand the rigors of endurance racing, then we can be sure that it can handle the daily drive with no problems whatsoever, chequered flag or not.
