Frankfurt 2015: Hyundai introduces i20 WRC rally car
Hyundai previews its challenger for the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship

Aside from the N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo concept, Hyundai previews the new-generation i20 WRC rally car at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Based on the new-gen i20 hatchback, Hyundai's WRC rally car shows the vehicle that will compete in the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship. Compared to the outgoing rally car, Hyundai says the 2016 i20 WRC features optimized weight distribution, greater powertrain efficiency and enhanced aerodynamics.
Up front, the 2016 i20 WRC rally car is fitted with blacked-out headlights, a vented hood, a large bumper and a mesh grill. Turning at the side, the vehicle comes with wide wheel arches and slim exterior mirrors.

The rear of the 2016 i20 WRC rally car has a prominent wing, wraparound taillights while the bumper is integrated with black cladding.
Powertrain details are yet to be released, but Hyundai says the i20 WRC rally car is already undergoing “punishment testing, engineering and development process.” The i20 WRC rally car will make its racing debut at Rally Monte Carlo in January 2016.
