Formula One goes back to Las Vegas for 2023 night race
Las Vegas joins Austin and Miami in the 2023 Formula One season

Up until a few years ago, Formula One was not a mainstream sport in the United States, as the sport was unable to roll beside the huge popularity of NASCAR and IndyCar, and was even saddled by issues such as the farcical 2005 US Grand Prix at Indianapolis.
But ever since Liberty Media took over, F1's appeal to American fans has totally changed (boosted no doubt by the popular Netflix series) to the point where the sport will now host two races this year: Austin and the upcoming Miami race.
There will be a third: the Las Vegas Grand Prix will return to the Formula One calendar next year, joining the United States Grand Prix in Austin and the Miami Grand Prix.

But unlike previous races in 1981 and 1982 held in the Caesar's Palace parking lot, F1 cars will now race in the famous Las Vegas strip and will pass through famous hotels and casinos of the greatest entertainment capital of the world.
The new 6.12-km street circuit features 14 corners with three long straights, and could see top speeds reach 342 km/h.

Set to take place in November next year, the 50-lap race will be held on a Saturday night, adding the neon lights of the Las Vegas Strip to the sound and spectacle of Formula One.
The ground-effect cars of the current season have provided a lot of on-track battles, particularly in the DRS zones. With that set to continue next year, and with the circuit's three long straights, we should expect to see exciting racing action once the Las Vegas Grand Prix starts in 2023.
