Former Toyota Vios Cup cars to race again at 2025 TGR Philippine Cup
2025 Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup happening March 22 at Clark International Speedway

The Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup has long been a mainstay in local motorsports. And for its 11th season, Toyota Motor Philippines is bringing back a few things that made the Vios Cup a success in the country.
TMP is introducing the new Legacy Class for 2025, where the previous generation Vios Cup cars used from 2013 to 2018 are returning to race alongside the current-generation race cars that have been in use since the 2019 season. The new class also opens up the series to any third-generation Vios, provided that the car complies to the technical regulations.
The Legacy Class Vios race cars should be powered by the 1.5-liter 1NZ-FE engine, and has a maximum power cap of 110HP. The cars should also feature similar safety equipment as that of the current-gen Vios race cars (roll cage, bucket seats, racing harnesses), and should have a minimum weight of 1,150 kg.

Under this class, the spec tire that will be used is the Champiro GTX Pro from GT Radial, the official tire sponsor of the TGR Philippine Cup. Drivers who wish to enter the Legacy Class should also have a National B license issued by the AAP.
However, unlike the current-generation Vios one-make race cars, the Legacy Class will only participate in Sprint Races. The Super Sporting, Sporting, and Novice Classes will still have a 1.5 hour endurance race like last year.
Other things that TGR has lined up for 2025 include the Club Race for GR owners in the country, where those who own a GR Supra, GR Yaris, or GR86 can participate in a 5-lap sprint race.
The first race weekend of 2025 TGR Philippine Cup is set for March 20-22 at Clark International Speedway, where the new GR Yaris will also make its public debut.
