Filipino Joward Policarpio victorious in Nissan GT Academy Asia at Silverstone
Policarpio wins GT Academy Asia Race Camp becomes first Filipino Nismo Athlete; to race in Dubai 24-hours

A Filipino has just won the Nissan GT Academy Asia.

Joward Policarpio flies the Philippine flag proudly as he has just topped the Nissan GT Academy Asia Race Camp in Silverstone, UK.
Policarpio is one of six Filipino representatives to fly to the one-of-a-kind “virtual to reality” driver development program by Nismo and Gran Turismo. He bested his equally talented countrymen to compete in the final race against the best of other Asian competitors from India, Indonesia, Japan, and Thailand.

This is the first time that Nissan has fielded a Philippine team to the GT Academy. The team was comprised of Policarpio, Rafael Lesaguis took the runner up spot for the Philippine contingent; Terence Lallave, Daryl Brady and Joel Agojo. They were mentored by Filipino GP2 driver Marlon Stockinger and Mexican GT Academy 2014 winner Ricardo Sanchez.

He bested his equally talented countrymen to compete in the final race against the best of other Asian competitors from India, Indonesia, Japan, and Thailand.

All GT Academy Race Camp qualifiers went through five days of grueling driving, physical and mental challenges to determine who becomes the next Nismo athlete who would be awarded a $1M racing contract and a seat at the Dubai 24-hour race with the GT Academy team alongside fellow graduates and season professional drivers.
Australian Matthew Simmons was crown 2015 GT Academy International Champion just last week besting participants from Mexico, North Africa, Turkey and the United States of America. GT Academy Europe will soon crown its champion with participants from France, Italy, Germany, UK, Benelux, Iberia, and CEE.
