Ferrari F1 names Maurizio Arrivabene as new team principal
Arrivabene replaces Marco Mattiaci who took charge of the F1 team for only seven months

Maurizio Arrivabene has been named as the new Team Principal of Scuderia Ferrari replacing Marco Mattiaci who took charge of the F1 team for only seven months. Ferrari has also appointed Arrivabene as Managing Director of Gestione Sportiva, the motorsport program of the Italian automaker.
Ferrari Chairman Sergio Marchionne said that Arrivabene's knowledge and experience will be beneficial for the F1 team.
“We decided to appoint Maurizio Arrivabene because we need a person with a thorough understanding not just of Ferrari but also of the governance mechanisms and requirements of the sport,” Marchionne said.
Before joining Ferrari, Arrivabene has held a variety of posts in Philip Morris. In 2007, he was appointed as Vice President of Marlboro Global Communication and Promotions for Philip Morris International. Four years after, Arrivabene became Vice President Consumer Channel Strategy and Event Marketing for the same company. Arrivabene has also been an independent board member of the Juventus FC since 2012.
Moreover, Ferrari says Arrivabene has been closely involved in Ferrari and has represented all Formula One sponsors on the F1 Commission since 2010.
