Ferrari claims second successive victory at 24 Hours of Le Mans

With 23 cars across 9 constructors in the Hypercar class, this year’s 24-hour showdown at Circuit de la Sarthe was one that went down to the wire. But ultimately, it was the Prancing Horse that came out on top once again.

Ferrari has claimed its second successive victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the 499P Hypercar, overcoming an intense battle against the likes of Porsche and Toyota on an endurance race that saw nine cars finishing on the lead lap.

In treacherous conditions and a late-race drama that saw race control to show a black-and-orange flag to the leader, the #50 499P driven by Nickas Nielsen, Antonio Fuoco and Miguel Molina completed 311 laps of the Circuit de la Sarthe, finishing with a 14-second margin over its closest competitors.

The #7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid of Nyck de Vries, Kamui Kobayashi and Jose Maria Lopez finished second, while the #51 499P of defending champions Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi rounded out the podium places.

Meanwhile, the LMP2 class saw the #22 United Autosports Oreca of Oliver Jarvis, Bijoy Garg and Nolan Siegel claim victory. The new LMGT3 class, on the other hand, was won by Porsche with the #91 Manthey EMA 911 GT3 R driven by Richard Lietz, Yasser Shahin and Morris Schuring.

With their most recent victory, Ferrari now has 11 24 Hours of Le Mans victories to its name.
