Fernando Alonso's first IndyCar test to be streamed live tonight
McLaren-Honda-Andretti to stream Fernando Alonso's first IndyCar test tonight

It's no secret that McLaren-Honda's ace driver, two-time F1 World Champion Fernando Alonso isn't happy with the 2017 car: the MCL32. Plagued with both reliability problems and uncompetitive power from the Honda RA617H, it came as no surprise that Fernando Alonso wanted to try something different to keep his edge.
That “something different” is coming in the form of an entry in the Indianapolis 500, the feature event of the 2017 IndyCar Series. His entry into the most famous American open-wheel race means he will miss the Monaco Grand Prix, but still, he will be driving for McLaren-Honda-Andretti.
The 2017 Indy 500 will be Alonso's first attempt at driving an oval track in a top tier motorsport event, as Formula One has no races on an oval. And unlike Formula One, in IndyCar all the cars are of equal performance and specifications, ensuring that the race is decided by the teams and, more importantly, the driver's racecraft.
The Indy 500 is considered to be one of the three major global motorsport events that comprise the unofficial “Triple Crown of Motorsport”. The other two events are the Monaco Grand Prix (which Alonso has already won) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Juan Pablo Montoya has won the Monaco GP and the Indy 500, but only one driver has won the three: Graham Hill.
To prepare the Spanish driver for the race, McLaren-Honda-Andretti has prepared a very special private test on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. And the best part is you can see it live:
The test will go live tonight at 9:30PM.
