Ex-F1 driver Kubica will pilot Ferrari hypercar in 2024 WEC
Robert Kubica will race a third Ferrari 499P Hypercar at 2024 World Endurance Championship season

We'll get to see another former Formula One driver on the World Endurance Championship hypercar class grid next year.
Former BMW Sauber, Renault, and Williams driver Robert Kubica will be stepping up in the WEC hypercar class next season with AF Corse – the outfit that runs Ferrari's sportscar program.
The Italian racing team has not revealed Kubica's program with the team, but the Polish driver is likely to be part of a third Ferrari 499P hypercar run under a customer team. Under the WEC rules, only two cars are allowed to be entered by factory teams, but additional cars can score points under the independent team class.

Kubica, on the other hand, has had plenty of experience and success in the lower classes of endurance racing. After his stint in F1 and WRC, Kubica won the 2021 European Le Mans Series title in the LMP2 class. Just recently, he and drivers Louis Deletraz and Yifei Ye secured the 2023 WEC LMP2 class championship with Team WRT.
More manufacturers are set to join the hyperclass grid next season, which makes for a very interesting battle. Ferrari, Toyota, Cadillac, Peugeot, Porsche, and Glickenhaus will be joined by BMW, Lamborghini, and Alpine.
