Everyone is excited for Mick Schumacher's F1 debut
Mick Schumacher to debut in Formula 1 at Eifel Grand Prix practice session

The Schumacher name officially returns to Formula 1 this October.
At the upcoming Eifel Grand Prix held at the Nürburgring, 21-year old Mick Schumacher will be making his official debut in the sport with Alfa Romeo Racing, but will not be racing. Michael Schumacher’s will be behind the wheel fo the Alfa Romeo Racing C39 for the practice session.
“I am overjoyed to get this chance in free practice. The fact that my first participation in a Formula 1 weekend will take place in front of my home audience at the Nürburgring makes this moment even more special. I would like to thank Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN and the Ferrari Driver Academy for giving me the opportunity to get another taste of Formula 1 air one and a half years after our common test drive in Bahrain,” said Schumacher.

Interestingly, the Eifel Grand Prix would not be Schumacher’s first time to drive a Formula 1 car. At the 2019 Bahrain test, he had his first Formula 1 outing, testing the Ferrari car. Now, over a year since Bahrain, he will be making his Formula 1 race weekend debut. No doubt he deserves it too. Apart from being a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA), Schumacher is currently leading the Formula 2 championship standings, having claimed wins at Monza and Sochi earlier this month.
Schumacher will be driving Antonio Giovinazzi’s car for the session, before the Italian resumes driving duties for the remainder of the race weekend.
With numerous teams changing their driver lineup next year, hopefully, we get to see Mick Schumacher make his jump into Formula 1 as well. At the moment, Alfa Romeo has yet to confirm their drivers for 2021. That said, it is possible for Schumacher to finally make his Formula 1 debut if Kimi Raikkonen and Giovinazzi are not retained.
