MANILA , Philippines - DENSO-Hanjin-Joson Formula 3 (JF3) Racing recently announced its new driver line-up for the 2005 Asian Formula 3 Championship. The team will be running two cars similar to last year's set-up. The cars will be using new Toyota TOM's engines and will be taken care of by the team's new British engineer Denny Quinn, whose background comes from the British Formula 3 series.
Driving the Dallara F301 car will be Japanese driver Katsuhiro Konno, whose racing background comes from karting and the Formula 4 series back in Japan . Konno will be competing in the International Class against high profile drivers from across the world.
Indonesian driver Moreno Soeprapto will drive the second car, a Dallara F398 to compete in the Promotional Class against promising talents across the region. Soeprapto's motorsport background began at the age of 12 in karting, which he had tremendous success in. He then went to run in the Indonesian National Formula Asia series, and further succeeded to running in the Italian Formula Renault winter series for his early days in single-seater cars. Last year, he ran in the Formula BMW Asia series as well with one race win and a third place finish. He also ran in the final round of the AF3 series in Batangas as a primer for this season.
"Our team is proud to have an all Asian driver lineup, and I am very confident that these two talented young drivers will do well for the 2005 season. With the recent adjustments made to the team structure, we will surely give the other teams a run for their money," said Team Principal Richard Joson.
Joson Formula 3 Racing 2005 Asian Formula 3 Championship campaign is supported by Denso Iridium Power, Hanjin Shipping, Sagawa Express, MOF Shipping, TOM's Asia, Eibach, AutoIndustriya.com, Compass Internet and Allen Isidro Autobody.
