Cebuano Daniel Miranda moves up from Vios Cup to TCR with Hyundai
Daniel Miranda continues his international racing career with Hyundai

From go-karts, to the Vios Cup, and now, to international touring car racing, Daniel Miranda has established himself as a globally competitive racing driver. Bringing him to new heights in his motorsports career is Hyundai, as he has been selected as one of their Customer Racing Junior Drivers for the 2019 motorsports season.

With that, Miranda becomes the first Filipino racer in the TCR Asia series, and is currently one of many who have raced touring cars in the region. Further strengthening the Pinoy pride in the TCR scene is the fact that Miranda is racing for Eurasia Motorsports, a racing team based in the Philippines. He, along with the other drivers of Eurasia Motorsports' efforts in TCR Asia, are driving the i30 N TCR. As for Miranda, he carries the Hyundai Junior Driver logo on his car, a badge of honor of sorts.
Hyundai says the reason why Miranda was chosen for their program is because of the potential they saw during the season opening of the TCR Asia series in Sepang, Malaysia. In his first outing as a TCR driver, Miranda crossed the line sixth in the first race, and fended off other drivers for a second-place finish in round two. Right now, Miranda sits fifth in the TCR Asia standings.

If anything, Miranda's road to international competition shows that Filipinos do, indeed, have the pace to go toe to toe with drivers from all over the world.
The next round of TCR Asia will be held at the Korea International Circuit this coming May 5. We know who we'll be rooting for in that race.
