Manila - Defending Asian Formula 3 Champion Mark Goddard and Castrol Philippines finalized their partnership as they set out to defend their title in this year's series. The agreement includes team naming rights and includes promotional tie-ups between Castrol and Team Goddard.
Castrol-Team Goddard will field a Dallara F301 model chassis and will be headed by Mark Goddard as team principal and driver. Technical assistance in terms of advanced engine and driveline lubricants and high-performance brake fluids and coolants will be supplied by Castrol as part of their support for 2003.
British-born Goddard won the series last year over both foreign and local teams and drivers. He dominated most of the races which ran in the Subic and Batangas tracks in the Philippines as well as Zhuhai in China, and Johor and Sepang in Malaysia. In 2003, the Formula 3 challenge will include several rounds within the Asian Festival of Speed. Among the additional tracks to be visited by the series, this year are Bira in Thailand, Everlands in Korea, Beijing in China and Autopolis in Japan.
