Big points at stake in 2nd leg of 2022 TGR Vios Cup
54 drivers and the all-new GR86 will hit the track this weekend
It is the pivotal 2nd leg of the 2022 Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Vios Cup this Saturday (August 20) at the Clark International Speedway. Leg 1 champs defend their positions and everyone else racing for all important points before the final leg in November.
Watch out for Alain Alzona (Circuit Championship), Troy Montero (Sporting Class), and John Dizon (Super Sporting Class) to try and stay on top versus formidable challengers on the grid.
But those aren’t the only races to see. There is the Autocross Challenge, where our very own Jamil Lacuna won the Sporting Class Media division, and several other classes including the celebrity division in both the Promotional and Sporting Class featuring Carla Lizardo, Jules Aquino, and Lexi Mendiola, among others.
A total of 54 drivers will hit the grid this Saturday but not all the action will go on the track. There will be Gazoo Racing rigs set up where visitors can play Gran Turismo. In between races, they can also visit sponsors’ booths, check out vehicle displays, and get their fill of treats from different food trucks.
Aside from the race, the big highlight of the day will be the all-new GR86 roaring on the track and showcasing its speed, agility, and handling for all the fans and races to see.
Gates open at 9:30 AM. Admission is free, just don’t forget to bring your vaccination cards and present them upon entry. We encourage you to watch the races live but if you can’t be there, catch it on the Facebook livestream on Toyota Motor Philippines or TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippines Official Facebook Pages. Livestream also starts at 9:30 AM.
