Bianca Bustamante to test new Formula E car with McLaren
Bianca Bustamante to drive Formula E Gen 3 Evo car in the Valencia test

Bianca Bustamante has had a busy year racing in the F1 Academy with McLaren. Aside from that, she has also raced in different machinery for the Italian, British, and Euro F4 Championships.
Now, the 19-year-old Filipina racer is getting her hands on an electric formula car. And yes, that’s right. Bianca Bustamante will take part in an all-female test session for the ABB FIA Formula E Championship.
Bustamante is paired with Ella Lloyd for the NEOM McLaren team and will drive the new Gen 3 Evo Formula E race car that’s capable of reaching 0 to 100 km/h in 1.82 seconds – faster than a Formula One car. The test will be held at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, which will take place on November 7.

“I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel of a Gen3 Evo car with the McLaren Formula E Team next month in Valencia. I’ve already been honing my skills in the simulator, and working with the team so I can extract the most from this opportunity as I can. I’m really looking forward to it.” said Bustamante.
The Formula E pre-season test in Valencia sees the first time that each team will field at least one female driver in a practice session. Alongside Bustamante and teammate Lloyd, female drivers Chloe Chambers and Nerea Marti have also been confirmed to participate as drivers for Andretti.
