Audi to enter F1 in 2026 with Sauber?
Announcement could come at this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix

A few months ago, German manufacturers Porsche and Audi have already confirmed their intentions to join the Formula One grid in 2026 when the new engine regulations designed to be less complex are set to take effect.
While the announcement gave us a lot to look forward to, the big question is which teams will the two manufacturers tie up with since F1 has not opened up grid spots for new entries.
Porsche's imminent partnership with Red Bull has been bared through a document published by Morocco's Conseil de la Concurrence, with the German brand buying a 50% stake in the Formula One team. On the other hand, Audi was initially linked to a partnership with McLaren. But apparently, talks between the two parties ultimately came to nothing.
Now it is understood that Audi may have already landed an agreement with Sauber, which currently competes under the Alfa Romeo Racing banner. The German manufacturer is reported to take over the majority share of Sauber and could come close to being a works team similar to BMW Sauber that competed from 2006 to 2009.
According to reports, the agreement also includes the F1 chassis construction to remain in Sauber's Hinwil, Switzerland headquarters, where they have one of the most modern wind tunnel facilities. The power unit, on the other hand, is to be built in Audi's high-tech complex in Neuburg, Germany.
Audi and Sauber's partnership could be announced when Formula One returns to action this weekend at the Belgian Grand Prix.
If the deal does push through, what do you think will Audi and Sauber name their team? Let us know in the comments.
