Audi DTM drivers are starting a virtual racing series
Audi DTM drivers wants you to race with them on Gran Turismo Sport

Racing never stops. Even with the on-going COVID-19 pandemic and government-imposed quarantines all around the world, those who want to race will find a way of doing so. Fortunately, thanks to the wonders of modern technology we can now do so in the comfort of our homes via sim racing.

Audi’s DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) drivers have decided to hold a virtual race series on the popular racing simulator Gran Turismo Sport. In particular, it was Audi factory driver Mike Rockenfeller who initiated the virtual racing series under the motto #RaceHome. All races will be played on the PlayStation 4 game with all players using the fully-electric Audi e-tron Vision Gran Turismo. Best of all, we, average players and fans of Gran Turismo, can race with them.
“Since there are no real races happening at the moment, because of the corona crisis, SimRacing is experiencing an incredible boom. We are deliberately going our own way: #RaceHome is focusing on sports cars with electric drive and is therefore in line with Audi’s focus topic in the change of mobility. We have decided on a console game because we can reach a particularly large community in this way,” says Rockenfeller, the 2013 DTM champion.

Grant Turismo Sport players around the world can have the opportunity to race against the DTM stars on #RaceHome. They may be able to get a spot on the grid each week by developing and publishing a design for the Audi e-tron Vision Gran Turismo in conjunction with #AudiTogether and #WeStayHome. The most creative design will win a spot on the grid. The judges are the six Audi DTM drivers themselves: Loïc Duval, Jamie Green, Nico Müller, Robin Frijns, René Rast and Mike Rockenfeller.

Aside from getting to race with DTM stars, #RaceHome also hopes to generate as many donations as possible. This will be done by giving players and fans the opportunity to bid for a spot on the grid each week.
All of the races of the #RaceHome charity racing series will be free live-streamed at www.twitch.tv/visionrcco. The first race is set on April 21 at 8 p.m. (CEST).
