Audi announces R8 LMS successor, upgraded R18 e-tron quattro
The Audi R8 LMS successor is set to undergo testing in select endurance races while the upgraded R18 e-tron will enter the 2015 WEC

Audi recently announced that they will introduce the successor of the R8 LMS in select endurance races, along with an improved R18 e-tron quattro which the company will enter in the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).
Audi did not release any images nor any details about the R8 LMS successor but they did state that it is 'ready to race'. The German automaker also added that the successor will undergo testing in select endurance races, which include the Nurburgring and the Spa-Francorchamps endurance races. Audi plans to deliver the new GT3 car to their customers near the end of 2015.
Over at WEC, two improved R18 e-tron quattros will join the 2015 season in all eight races along with a third car which will be driven by German GT driver Rene' Rast. The third R18 e-tron quattro will compete at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium and at the Le Mans 24 Hours of France.
Other drivers that will take part in the 2015 season of WEC are Marcel Fassler of Switzerland, three-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Andre' Lotterer of Germany, French racing drivers Benoit Treluyer and Loic Duval, Brazilian Lucas di Grassi, Oliver Jarvis of Great Britain, Filipe Albuquerqu of Portugal and Marco Bonanomi of Italy.
