Arnold Schwarzenegger to drive pace car in Sonoma on June 28
Arnold Schwarzenegger to drive a Toyota Mirai in the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway

Nascar will have a very different pace car for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 race at Sonoma Raceway on June 28. It will be a 2016 Toyota Mirai, Toyota's fuel cell car, and leading the field to the green flag is Arnold Schwarzenegger. This will be Schwarzenegger's first time driving a pace car and it will also be the first time a hydrogen powered car will do pace car duties.
The Toyota Mirai gets its look from the FCV Concept and is the first fuel cell vehicle to be for sale instead of being leased. It is powered by a hydrogen powered electric motor and puts out 152 PS and 335 Nm of torque. It also has a 1.6 kilowatt hour Nickel-metal hydride battery and Toyota says the Mirai has a range of 650 kilometers with one full filling of hydrogen.

“I can't wait to drive the pace car at Sonoma. It will be an honor to lead these fantastic athletes and champions around the raceway, and on top of it, I get to drive a car that is both powerful and green." said Schwarzenegger.
The Toyota/Save Mart 350 will be on June 28 at the Sonoma Raceway in California.
