A Philippine team will be racing at 2020 24 Hours of Le Mans

If there is one team we should all be rooting for at the upcoming 24 Hour of Le Mans, it's Eurasia Motorsport. The Philippine-based team will be flying our country’s flag high at the world-renowned endurance race held at Circuit de La Sarthe and will be competing against the best of the best in the LMP2 class.

Eurasia Motorsport just revealed the new livery of their LMP2 contender featuring a stylish black-yellow color combination ahead of the Le Mans 24 race this September 19-20. No doubt our favorite part of the livery would be the Philippine flags on the rear wing and the front left fender. Our flag is joined by that of Australia, Japan, and Spain.

For those wondering, this won’t be the first time Eurasia Motorsports will be competing at Le Mans 24 while representing the country. The team’s first entry racing into the race with the Philippine flag happed back in 2016. They have since continued to compete at Le Mans annually, finishing twice in the top six in the European Le Mans championship.

Despite Eurasia Motorsport representing the country, there is no Philippine driver in their lineup. The drivers for the 24 Hours of Le Man are comprised of Australian Nick Foster, Spaniard Roberto Merhi, and Japanese Nobuya Yamanaka.

Though the team might not be as popular compared to others on the grid, Eurasia Motorsport has been responsible for big-name drivers including Formula 1’s Daniel Ricciardo and Antonio Giovinazzi.

With a Philippine team already representing the country at Le Mans, hopefully, we get to see a Philippine driver in their future roster.
