2016 Nissan GT Academy to feature Gran Turismo Sport
Competitors to race it out in early version of Gran Turismo Sport

Gamers that dream of becoming racecar drivers will get their chance once again after Nissan recently launched the 2016 edition of GT Academy.
For this year, a total of six territories will be hosting the global event which has seen 6 million competitors since its debut last 2008. Countries included in the 2016 Nissan GT Academy include Australia, Indonesia, Mexico, North Africa (Algera, Egypt, Morocco), Philippines and Thailand.
Other regions will also be launching their own GT Academy competitions at a later date. This will coincide with the eventual release of Gran Turismo Sport on November 4, 2016.
As part of the partnership between Polyphony Digital, the developers of the Gran Turismo series, and Nissan, an early version of the upcoming Gran Turismo Sport will be playable during the live recruitment phase of the 2016 GT Academy. Nissan added that those that will participate will get to play the latest Gran Turismo game before its scheduled release.
Last year, Filipino Joward Policarpio was crowned the winner of Nissan GT Academy Asia, besting the other competitors from India, Indonesia, Japan and Thailand. Policarpio is one of six Filipino representatives that was officially fielded by Nissan Philippines. The team was comprised of Policarpio, Rafael Lesaguis, Terence Lallave, Daryl Brady and Joel Agojo.
