Mindanao Ave-Quirino Highway connection to start this year
NLEX says construction of expressway linking Mindanao Ave and Quirino Highway to start within the year

After announcing its plans to connect Quirino Highway and Mindanao Avenue last year, NLEX Corporation recently shared that work on the proposed road connector will officially begin this 2022.
Set to start within the year, the project will see the construction of a 2-km expressway that will link the two major roadways. It will become an important part of the 11.5-km NLEX-C5 Link between Mindanao Avenue, Quirino Highway, Regalado Avenue, Congressional Avenue, and C.P. Garcia Avenue in Quezon City.
According to NLEX Corporation, the new 2-km expressway will help NLEX motorists avoid daily gridlock traffic along Mindanao Avenue.

“Eventually, this section will be integrated into the future NLEX expansion to C5 /C.P. Garcia near Katipunan Avenue. We foresee an interconnected tollway network that will be accessible to the west, east, north, and south sides of Metro Manila,” said J. Luigi L. Bautista, president and general manager of NLEX Corporation.
Once completed, the new road is expected to benefit truckers, logistics companies, and other commercial vehicles. It will also serve as an alternate route to Port of Manila via NLEX Harbor Link all the way to the New Navotas Interchange.
NLEX Corporation also estimated that once the entire NLEX-C5 Link Project is finished, around 45,000 motorists will benefit daily. More importantly, it will cut travel time between Mindanao Avenue to Commonwealth Avenue to just 10 minutes instead of the usual 45 minutes.
For those living near Mindanao Avenue and Quirino Highway, this new road project will certainly help those that need to travel between NLEX, as well as C5 going south.
