With iX2 EV in PH, will BMW also bring all-new X2?
For now, it looks like BMW is content with the iX2 EV

Last week, BMW Philippines distributor SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. officially launched not one but two electric crossovers - the all-new iX1 and iX2. These two are the most affordable ways to get into a BMW EV in the Philippines, and also gives customers the choice between an ICE-powered X1 and the all-electric version iX1.
However, the launching of the iX2 made us curious if the all-new X2 will also be arriving in the not-so-distant future. We recently spoke with SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. president Spencer Yu to get the answer.

According to the executive, while the X2 already serves as the sportier version of the X1, they only decided to bring the iX2 EV. Combined with the fact that the iX2 comes with the M Sport appearance pack, the iX2 will suit those who prefer something sportier in appearance and performance.
“We think that the EV version is already sporty enough for those that prefer the iX2. Not only is it sportier to drive but it will also suit the needs of the Filipino buyer who wants something smaller than the iX3 M Sport,” said Yu.

As to when the all-new X2 will arrive in the Philippines, sorry X2 fans but BMW Philippines has decided they will not be bringing the ICE-powered version to the country. That means those who still prefer an ICE-powered compact crossover from BMW will have to settle with the X1 and X3.
Do you think BMW will eventually change its mind and bring the regular X2 to the Philippines in the future? Let us know in the comments.
