Will this Changli be the cheapest EV in PH?

It looks like another Chinese brand is getting ready to enter the Philippine market and offer an affordable four-wheeled electric vehicle (EV).

According to the information we received, Changli is preparing to import the CLZKC-013. If you're familiar with the pint-sized Wuling Mini EV, well this is its (even smaller) rival.

Measuring only 2,540mm long, 1360mm wide, and 1700mm tall, the Changli CLZKC-013 is closer to a Little Tikes grocery cart than a full-fledged vehicle. In fact, it's 377mm shorter, 261mm thinner but 207mm taller than the Wuling Mini EV. If the Wuling is a mini EV, then we could even say the Changli is a micro EV.

Despite its small size, the EV can seat up to 4 people thanks to its steering wheel and pedals placed in the middle. It even packs some interesting features inside like a sunroof and a back-up camera for its USB-ready head unit.

In terms of its performance, Changli said it could reach a top speed of 45 km/h. The EV has a 50 kW AC Motor that puts out a maximum torque of 100 Nm. The motor is then connected to a 30 kWh battery that gives the Changli EV an estimated range of up to 80 km.

While we have yet to get information about its pricing, the EV is still subject to the full 30% import duties that the country imposes, and could be priced closer to how much Atoy Customs is offering the Wuling Mini EV.

Like the Wuling, Changli is offering a cheap EV that can move you in short distances. With still relatively high fuel prices compared to last year, would the Changli EV make an impact in the PH market? Let us know in the comments.
