Volkswagen teases Amarok's Ranger-like display
VW teases new Ranger-like infotainment system screen

Volkswagen has been teasing us with fresh images and renders of their new pickup truck. A camouflaged prototype, LED matrix headlights, and the truck’s rear have already been released online.

Today, we get a sneak peek of the interior. The German automaker reveals a 12-inch vertical touchscreen in the cockpit. Since this model is based on Ford’s new 2023 Ranger platform, we can't help but think this may actually be the same display we're seeing.
Based on the photo, the Amarok might also have its air-conditioning controls at the bottom of the screen, on what looks like toggle switches, and not digital ones like the Ranger. What could be on the touchscreen, however, are controls for the rear differential. The Amarok may run Ford’s SYNC 4A system if it will follow the Ranger lineage.

The German truck has increased in size. It will be 100 millimeters (3.93 inches) longer and 40 mm (1.57 inches) wider than the outgoing model. Towing and payload capacity have also increased to 7716 pounds (3500 kilograms) and 2645 pounds (1200 kilograms) respectively. The truck will have 5 trim levels. They are going to be the Base, Life, Style, Panamericana, and Aventura. Wheel sizes are between 17 to 21 inches depending on the variant.

As confirmed earlier this year, the Amarok will be getting a V6 twin-turbo diesel. It’s very evident with that V6 badge at the rear. Without the exact specifications, we aren’t sure if the truck will be using Ford’s twin-turbo V6 diesel or VW’s own TDi V6.

Volkswagen will be releasing a bunch of models this year. With all the teasers coming from VW, we hope that this gets released in our local market. We Filipinos love our trucks and this would be a perfect vehicle for Philippine roads.
