Tunnel boring machine for Metro Manila Subway to cause traffic
Transportation of tunnel boring machine expected to cause traffic slowdown in Metro Manila

Heads up motorists. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced that motorists may experience a slowdown of traffic from February 2 to 3 and from February 4 to 5 in some parts of Metro Manila.
This is due to the scheduled transportation of the tunnel boring machine (TBM) used for the Metro Manila Subway Project. During the said dates, the TBM will be moved from 5th Avenue to Dona Julia Vargas Avenue.

The following roads will be affected during the said dates:
-5th Avenue (between 11:00 PM – 12:00 AM)
-Araneta Avenue (between 1:00 AM– 2:00 AM)
-Ortigas Avenue – C5 Road (between 2:30 AM – 3:30 AM)
-Doña Julia Vargas Avenue (between 3:30 AM – 4:00 AM)
The TBM will be used in the construction of the tunnels that will connect the Metro Manila Subway Project's Ortigas Avenue Station, Shaw Boulevard Station, and Kalayaan Avenue Station.

The DOTr has advised motorists who will be affected by the transportation of the TBM to take alternate routes. In addition, they apologize for the inconvenience and wish for the public's understanding.
