TrailSport: Honda creates an off-road ready CR-V e:HEV with AWD
Honda CR-V e:HEV gets TrailSport off-road package in American market

Everyone seems to have hopped onto the off-road package bandwagon nowadays. Ford has the Raptor, Toyota has the GR-S for the Hilux, and Subaru even has the cladding-heavy Wilderness for the Forester.

As for Honda, well, they have the TrailSport package for the Passport - but now it’s the CR-V’s turn to get the same treatment. The Japanese manufacturer has revealed the CR-V TrailSport Hybrid for the American market, which is essentially the CR-V e:HEV in PH but with beefier tires and a standard all-wheel-drive powertrain.

The CR-V TrailSport Hybrid gets a dose of ruggedness with its front fascia fitted with a silver skid garnish, along with blacked-out trims in the spoiler, window surrounds, and the door handles. It also has special TrailSport badges on the grille and tailgate, but the off-road look is completed by the Continental CrossContact ATR all-terrain tires fitted to the CR-V’s 18-inch wheels finished in Shark Gray, and the exclusive Ash Green Metallic paint.

Inside, the CR-V TrailSport has embossed logos on the front seat headrests and the all-season floor mats that come as standard. To complete the TrailSport treatment inside, the ambient lighting has been changed to amber. It also gets the new-for-2026 MY updates like a bigger touchscreen, wireless charging, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Under the hood, you’ll find the same 2.0-liter e:HEV powertrain on the TrailSport package, producing 204 PS and 335 Nm of torque for the US market. But what’s changed is the addition of Honda’s Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System. On the trail, the system mimics a limited slip diff by evening out the torque that gets sent to the wheels.

With overlanding being a popular lifestyle activity in the country, do you think Honda Cars PH should bring in its own version of the TrailSport to the market? Let us know in the comments.
