Toyota to reveal GR Corolla with AWD
Toyota's latest GR sports car will have the GR-Four AWD system

Towards the end of the most recent Toyota commercial involving the GR86, we saw a hot hatch light up. Truly a sign of things to come for Toyota and the Gazoo Racing brand.
And now they've confirmed it: Toyota will be launching a new GR sports car on April 1. While the Japanese carmaker did not go into specifics, we have no doubts that the new model will be the much-awaited GR Corolla.
This is no April fools' joke, as Toyota Gazoo Racing's 13-second video gave us a sneak peek at what to expect in the new hot hatch.

The car features a widened front fender with piano black vents and GR badging. In addition, the high-performance brakes has its calipers finished in red with GR logos. Lastly, the side skirts with debossed “GR-FOUR” lettering gave away hints that the car has the all-wheel-drive system of the GR Yaris.
While no other specifics have been confirmed nor denied by Toyota, the GR Corolla will reportedly be powered by the same 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder from the GR Yaris that produces 261 PS and 360 Nm of torque. The engine will likely be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

Since the GR Corolla is a much bigger hatchback than the GR Yaris, there's also a possibility that the new model could produce more power than Toyota's homologation special. After all, the carmaker has shown the G16E-GTS in the limited-edition GRMN Yaris can put out 272 PS and 390 Nm of torque.
These speculations, however, will all be put to rest once the full reveal starts by April 1, 9:30 AM Philippine time. Are you excited to see the all-new Toyota GR Corolla? Let us know in the comments.
