Toyota to reveal Century SUV on September 6
After the Toyota Crown, the Toyota Century appears to be next in line to get the crossover SUV treatment

Earlier this year, Toyota confirmed that there will indeed be an SUV version of the Century luxury sedan. Announced during the global reveal of the all-new Alphard and Vellfire last June, the yet-to-be-revealed luxury SUV will follow the footsteps of the next-generation Crown which is now also available as a crossover SUV.
At the time, Toyota revealed little to no details about the Century SUV besides a silhouette that journalists saw during the live unveiling of the new luxury MPVs. However, it will apparently have a retro-inspired design that will include a distinct rear end that appears to be similar to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
Fast forward several months later, and Toyota has announced that they will be holding a new car presentation on September 6, 2023. The automaker did not exactly say what they will be revealing, but based on the teaser image they provided, it looks like it will be the Century SUV.
Based on the picture Toyota posted, the supposed Century SUV may have a Rolls-Royce Cullinan-like rear. For now, all we can see is that it will have a distinct beltline, a pair of eye-catching LED taillights, several chrome/metal accents, and what appears to be a boxy body.
Toyota has yet to state the official name of the Century SUV. However, we won't be surprised if it will be slightly different (or similar) to the original Century nameplate. As for the vehicle's architecture, it's highly likely that it will be underpinned by the brand's TNGA-K platform that's already seeing use in several models like the Crown Kluger, Alphard, Vellfire, Lexus RX, Lexus NX, and Lexus TX.
With the official launch set for next week, we won't have to wait long before Toyota reveals it to the world. Perhaps the only question now is whether will it be available as a hybrid or with an internal combustion engine only.
