Toyota reveals electric HiAce concept ahead of Japan Mobility Show
It looks like Toyota wants to make an all-electric version of its popular people carrier/cargo mover

Toyota will be at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show with something special. Don't try to adjust your screens, this is an all-electric HiAce concept and it's set to make its debut next week in Tokyo.
It's called the Global HiAce BEV Concept, and it looks promising. It's based on the current generation of people carrier/cargo movers. and dons a more futuristic design consisting of sleek LED headlights, a closed-off grille with LED illumination, black wheel covers, and neon green accents at the front.

Hop inside and the concept is actually a cargo van as there is only one seat dedicated to the driver. This allows for a generous space for putting cargo, especially pallets or long items without much difficulty. Despite its utilitarian nature, Toyota did provide amenities for the driver like a tablet-inspired touchscreen infotainment, a digital instrument cluster, climate control, and charging ports.

In terms of size, the concept measures 5280mm long, 1950mm wide, 1990mm tall, and has a 3210mm wheelbase. As for its cargo area, it comes in at 1715mm wide and 1270mm tall which makes it one of the most spacious cargo van concepts.

With the concept vehicle looking much like a production-ready version, perhaps it might not be long before Toyota actually reveals an EV version of the popular people carrier/cargo mover. The only question now is when can we expect Toyota to actually make it a reality?
