Toyota previews B-segment EV with Urban SUV Concept
Urban SUV Concept by Toyota coming to Europe but will other markets get it?

Toyota may be late into the EV game but the automaker is catching up with several new concepts that will essentially preview the brand's zero-emissions offerings. In Europe alone, Toyota plans to deliver 6 dedicated battery electric vehicles (BEVs) which will be making their premiere in the Old Continent in the first half of 2024.

One of those vehicles will be a compact electric SUV which has been previewed via the Urban SUV Concept. Revealed at the company's annual Kenshiki forum in Brussels, Belgium, the sleek concept is our first glimpse of a new BEV that is planned for market launch in 2024. It will sit alongside the Yaris Cross and is set to offer buyers an affordable electric vehicle.
Measuring 4300mm long, 1820mm wide, and 1620mm tall, the Urban SUV Concept fits right into the B-segment crossover market. Despite its small size, however, the concept features what Toyota calls “an authentic SUV presence” thanks to the vehicle's SUV-like proportions. This is then complemented by sleek lines and angular shapes which make the Urban SUV Concept stand out more.

Toyota says the production version will be available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive variations, depending on customer preference. In addition, customers will be able to choose between two battery options; with different capacities to suit their needs and driving range.

Other details regarding the Urban SUV Concept remain a mystery. However, Toyota did say that further information as well as the production model will be announced in 2024. And while the concept vehicle is meant solely for Europe, perhaps a different version will be made available to other markets in the future.
