Toyota PH issues recall on Lexus LX700h, RZ

A total of 36 Lexus LX700h units and 193 examples of the Lexus RZ are being recalled

Lexus customers who recently bought a brand new LX700h or the RZ EV may want to check if their vehicle is part of a recall. This comes after Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) notified the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) about its Customer Satisfaction Campaign (CSC) for some of its models.

Starting with the Lexus LX700h, affected vehicles may have an engine ECU with incorrect fuel injection programming. During engine warm-up, the system may misread normal fuel pressure changes, which will result in the warning light turning on and the vehicle entering failsafe mode. The car will still run in this mode, but will have limited power and can only hit a top speed of 60 km/h.

A total of 36 units of the LX700h are part of the recall in the Philippines, which were built from January 9, 2025, through July 15, 2025. Affected customers will be notified by TMP and invited to Lexus dealers nationwide for a free engine ECU reprogramming. Customers are also encouraged to schedule an appointment to prevent further issues.

Also being recalled by TMP are several examples of the Lexus RZ. According to the automaker, certain HVAC software conditions may cause the heater and defroster to stop working. This can result in poor visibility and increase the risk of an accident during cold or humid conditions.

Customers are encouraged to schedule an appointment as soon as possible to ensure reliable performance of their vehicles. Customers with affected units will be notified by TMP and invited to Lexus dealers nationwide for a free A/C ECU reprogramming and electric compressor inspection or replacement.

Lexus says that 173 units of the RZ450e AWD that were built from November 28, 2023, through February 23, 2024, are affected in the country. On the other hand, 20 examples of the RZ300e FWD built from February 20, 2023, through December 22, 2023, are part of the CSC.

Those who wish to check if their vehicle is part of the recall can visit the Lexus Service Campaign website and type in the 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN).
