Toyota PH downsizes Vios variants; retains only 1.3L engines
Toyota Vios: No more 1.5 G CVT and 1.5 G MT variants

As we all probably know, the all-new Toyota Ativ is now available in TMP dealerships nationwide, and is being sold alongside the locally-produced Vios.
With that in mind, Toyota Motor Philippines has decided to downsize the Vios variant offerings. The top-of-the-line 1.5G MT and 1.5G CVT variants are no longer on the TMP website, and what’s left are the J MT, XE CVT, XLE MT, and XLE CVT variants, which are powered by the smaller 1.3-liter 1NR-FE.
The retained Vios variants usually cater to first-time car owners and those into fleet businesses such as company cars and ride-hailing services, which make up the bulk of TMP’s sales of the Vios.
On the other hand, the Ativ could be for those who like to step up to a newer platform, have the bigger 1.5-liter 2NR-VE, or for those who want an electrified sedan with its top-spec HEV.
The consolidation of the Vios lineup has also allowed TMP to streamline its pricing strategy and offer customers a subcompact sedan at a broad price point, starting at PHP 738,000 in the 1.3 J MT Vios to the Ativ 1.5 HEV CVT that’s priced at PHP 1,198,000.
